I’ve been listening to a lot of music lately. Just sitting around at my keyboards scratching out a sound. Mainly Boards of Canada since they are a heavy influence on the music I create as Pré. Besides BOC I found some others that I find myself drawing some inspiration from. Although notably they are most likely also influenced by BOC.
The Advisory Circle’s Mind How You Go mainly mainly for me the titled track and Get In The Swim. Also Paramnesic’s Dissociative EP which also has three BOC remixes which are great.
Here is, to me, a great example of music and vintage video together. Its my favourite video (and song) by The Autumn Helix. A great mixture of electronic and guitar.
I also found an interesting collection of experimental film photos here. expirted polaroid photos at its finest. If you’re into this kind of thing I reccoment checking this out. There are 38 pages if photos so there are many great examples.
I got some isopropyl alcohol to clean the heads of my reel-to-reel and did it ever need it. By the time I finished cleaning it, the q-tips where black (a new one for each head). I’ll take some photos of my music setup when I get my camera. They’ll probably be a lot of “when I get my camera” posts.
Thanks for visiting. Remember comments, questions and ideas are always welcome. So don’t be shy.
This is a neat little video I found on Vimeo. Its called Voice Print and is made from Olga Mink. I really like the dark nature of it. It gives me a feeling of sadness or looking over your shoulder.
If you have been on the website before then you would have notices almost everything has changed. This is true in a way. The look and feel of it all has changed and also has a lot more content. You can still read my poems and can now add your own comments on each poem. My drawings are now featured on my deviantART profile (linked above as “Artwork”) and there is now a link to my music. I have started focusing more and more on my own music but wanted to connect everything. The about page will give you some basic info on myself as well as my music and this blog. The purpose for it and its goals. There is a forum which you can post topics within the set categories in the hopes that within time this will become a place for not only me but many people. Sharing there inspirations and interests; we’ll see how that goes. The shop currently has nothing in it. At some point I hope to have CDs, books of poetry, drawings and anything else for sale there. If you have a request for a piece of art in my gallery or a poem please feel free to email me and ask anytime.
On the side of the site (to the right) you will find more links. A google calendar which is more for me then anything. So I can keep on track and organized although I don’t use it very much at the moment. A link to my photos on Flickr which I will hopefully add more when I buy a new camera. A link to my tumblr place which has images from other sites that I enjoyed. My bookmarks, so you can see what I’ve been viewing. My twitter page and a link to my vimeo profile which has some videos I’ve made set to my music. I will be working on more as time goes on. My most recent twitter comment is also on the side bar. I have a link to my Last.FM page so you can check out what I’ve been listening to on my iPod or iTunes.
The main page will has posts of things that inspire me or hold some interest to me in some way. You can also post your comments or questions there. The website will be updated constantly in some way so be sure to visit often.
